My Snowmobile

I have a 1970 Alouette Snowmobile. The sled has a 340 BSE engine under the hood. It has an 18 inch track on it. so it's great for breaking a trail. The 340 BSE engine that is in my snowmobile has approximately 14 horsepower.

The Kawasaki Snowmobile

Kawasaki made snowmobiles for a period of time. They bought the Sno-Jet brand from the Glastron Boat Company in 76'. They ended making the Sno-Jet in 1982. Kawasaki stopped making and manufacturing the Sno-Jet due to a declining market. In 1968 the Sno-Jet company started by an investor visiting the Glastron Boat Company which were looking for more money. The investor liked the home-made snowmobile they had there. Glastron decided to specialize in snowmobile, as they where climbing fast. Then in 1973 OPEC oil company had a sky rocket in the gas prices which then slowed the snowmobiling industry to a halt. Sno-Jet hung in there for another couple years until 1976 when they sold out to Kawasaki.

2013 Yamaha Apex

The 2013 Yamaha Apex is a mean looking machine. It is sleek and fast. The Apex is made for mountainous terrain, and steep inclines. One of the features on the 2013 Yamaha Apex is electric power steering, it is suppose to eliminate trail feedback, and provide the rider with a sense of knowledge of where the sled is going to go. It is also suppose the give the rider a more comfortable ride. The Yamaha Apex is snowmobile I would look into getting.

It's Gone

Well, the snowmobiling season is long gone for now. All the snowmobiles will be put away for the summer. But will they really be stored away? Not all snowmobiles will be put away, some people drag race them in the grass. These races usually take place all summer.

It's Parked

Well, I parked the Ski Doo for the year, I parked it outside wrapped in a tarp. When you park your snowmobile make sure that you turn over the engine every now and then to prevent it from set ceasing. If you don't want your paint to fade in the sun make sure to cover the snowmobile up in a tarp.
